I know Mike personally from high school. He and he sister are quality people. They've always worked hard and are kind to people. I haven't read the book, but you better believe I will. I will return with specific feedback.
An inspiring and motivational book, Michael Mitcham eliminates any excuse for failure with this book, Ahead in the Count. The theme of overcoming adversity in the face of death, poverty and danger is one that few can truly relate to, making his story that much more interesting. I can confidently say I have a completely different outlook on life after reading this. All of my struggles and problems in life I actually look forward to now, knowing that if Michael can hurdle his issues and come out successful, then I can do the same.

Very well written, an inspiring story of overcoming life's challenges. Really enjoyed this book, easy to read, but very thought provoking.
I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. This true life story is beautifully written, and at times, it seems the author himself can hardly believe he actually lived through his own life events. But he did. This is a great read and this is an admirable man.
Great story for any age. I like it for middle school children as inspiration, for graduation gifts for wisdom and for older individuals for affirmation.
